Casting Call for short drama

Call for Actors
Duchy Parade Films is a Yorkshire based Independent Production Company that specialises in stories told in imaginative ways. (www.duchyparadefilms.com) Our prime focus is drama features in short & long form, television, and new-media publishing.

We currently have a call out for a short drama feature - Cinema of Horror, a dark comedy, fantasy/horror to be shot in Yorkshire on 16mm film by a professional crew.

Project Title: - Cinema of Horror

Synopsis:
Cinema of Horror is a contemporary, fast paced, character driven piece, which focuses on the relationship between three final year film studies students. The central story revolves around a heated debate over current trends in Asian (mainly Far East) Cinema Extreme. Each character plays out their feelings in a series of fantasy sequences reflecting their cinematic interest and viewpoint.

Whilst we will be working from an existing nine-minute screenplay, because of the importance of the relationship of the three central characters, we intend to employ improvised workshop sessions to explore the story’s dialogue and humour before signing off on the script.

It will be physical with strong language and content, demanding filmmaking to be shot over a maximum of one-week period, Oct.

We are looking for the following actors:

(1) Hing a filmmaker with a strong belief that Chinese cinema is the future not just for East Asian films but also for world cinema. Male, play range (20-30) must be able to speak English but with Chinese ethnic appearance. The actor would be playing a British-Chinese character. A strong, forceful, angry character. (Please include details of height).

(2) Lily a female student, (20-30) play range. East Asian appearance. Physical performer with some dance experience at least, ideally not two left feet! English speaking. (Please include details of height). Must be fine with make-up process.
