Bitter Sweet live

View the video and flip through the e-graphic novel - part of marking the anniversary of the Bill for abolition of slavery passed in the House of Commons in 1807 and championed by William Wilberforce MP for Hull, the start of a long journey towards equality.

Three students drift through the genres of their favourite Asian flicks. Their arguments take them into an array of comic fantasy scenarios, from Bollywood song-and-dance spectaculars through to blood-soaked bulletfests and creepy nighttime terrors in this entertaining comment on modern British filmmaking.

The Astronomer's Sun

Duchy is currently producing 'The Astronomer's Sun' a stop motion animation by new talented writer/director's, Simon Cartwright and Jessica Cope working with producer's, David Bunting and Peter M. Kershaw.

Part of 4mations Digital Shorts, 4Mations Digital Shorts is backed by UKFCs new cinema fund, channel 4 and 13 Strategic partners throughout the UK. For our region, Screen Yorkshire is the principle funding partner for 'The Astronomer's Sun' under the watchful eye of Exe. Producer, Tony Dixon.

Cinema of Horror plays in the short programme on Fri. 12th June @ 10.30 Sat. 13th @ 11.00 and Sunday 14th @ 17.45. During National Media Museum's - Fantasy Weekend.

Part of the short film programme - Cinema of Horror will be screening every day during the festival.

Screening at Picture House

On Wednesday 24th September at Hebden Bridge Picture House starting at 19.30 there will be an evening of films shot in and around the local area of Hebden.
A great deal of hard work and research has gone into putting this special evening of films together. Nick Wilding, the filmmaker behind the event, will be introducing and


giving an insight into the films which will include a short piece from the Counterfeiter Documentary shot locally by Duchy in 2007 on the Coiners. Nick's presentation will also include a specially filmed interview with Peter Kershaw about the up coming Coiners feature. By way of illustration of other history based dramas produced by Duchy there will be a short extract from Wilfred - the Wilfred Owen film. If your in the area or know people locally it will be a great evening of film entertainment.

Counterfeit History gets new screening

Counterfeit history - the half-hour documentary about the story of the Yorkshire Coiners produced by Duchy in 2007 will be screening as part of the Heritage opening at Hebden Bridge Picture House on Saturday 13th of Sept. 2008 at 11.00 and again at Noon.Afterward, the director Peter M. Kershaw will be available to speak with those interested in learning more about the feature production for the Coiners set to slate in 2009.For those in Hebden Bridge History Society there will be a special screening of the film in October as part of the Societies AGM and the general public can catch a short segment of the film at the history of the cinema in Hebden Bridge screening on 24th Sept. at the Picture House.
