New drama partnership launched

Coiners
Duchy Parade Films in partnership with Square Chapel, Centre
for the Arts and supported by Calderdale Council are proud to announce the launch
of their new partnership.

The Coiners is a full-length drama feature set in 1770 and inspired by the tale of the Yorkshire Coiners. The production is a collaboration of industry professionals working with the community and is intended to be in pre-production in autumn of 2009.

Exciting Production News

Duchy Parade Films has joined in partnership with Square Chapel Centre for the Arts in Halifax and Calderdale Council to pitch for the heritage based feature - The Last Coiner. Director Peter Kershaw said, "This is the exciting news a number of people have been waiting to hear we are finally in a position with our partners to go forward with our funding ambitions." The film is hoped to be produced using a mix of private and public funding. "Most excitingly it means we can look to shoot in Yorkshire" Peter added. Wilfred screening

Tuesday 15th July - 7.00pm - 8.15pm: The director of “Wilfred”, Peter Kershaw will be visiting the greenhouse to talk about the film and the challenges of merging two distinct art forms - poetry and film. Free of charge but as places are limited to 40, booking is essential.

Drama gets screening

The short drama Wilfred will be screening for three weeks in the Channel Islands as part of a festival held on Guernsey. Set in 1918 during the last days of the First World War Wilfred creates a poetic vision of the final days of the poet Wilfred Owen's life. The festival Pen & Lens runs from 26th June 2008 for 3 weeks.

Cannes in a Van
